Dashing Finally Gets It Done

Dashing Finally Gets It Done

On ability and prizemoney won a case could be made that Dashing Special was the best maiden racing in Sydney, but after last Sunday's resounding success at Hawkesbury he no longer qualifies for the title.

Another Supreme performance

Another Supreme performance

Gary wasn't caught in the moment when he said Hostwin Supreme was the best sprinter he has trained after the gelding went back-to-back on Saturday. It may be a long way from a winter three-year-old Benchmark 74 at Rosehill to surpass Takedown's Gr.1 Winterbottom Stakes win, but Gary truly believes the son of Zoustar is a top-flight performer masquerading as a handicapper. "When he learns to jump cleanly we will see something out of the top drawer. On Saturday he jumped slowly and wasn't suited when the leaders got it easy, so he wasn't entitled to win. But this boy stretches his neck like a truly good horse, and he'll be better at 1200 metres" said Gary. For the moment Gary will take a softly, softly approach with the Jason Tam and Julie Moore owned gelding, allowing the horse to race through the Sydney grades. But should all go to plan "Supreme" will get his chance to prove Gary's statement right in the months to come.

It was all about jumping cleanly with Hostwin Supreme at Warwick Farm and when he leapt clear under Christian Reith it was going to take a good horse to run him down.

Dawn Ready To Break

Dawn Ready To Break

Exciting colt Dawn To Good is ready to put it all together at his fourth career start in Saturday's Gr.1 Champagne Stakes. The son of Dawn Approach has impressed all who have ridden him, but tardiness at the barriers and then overracing when he jumped cleanly last start has cruelled his chances. Understandably Gary can't wait for Saturday and another chance to show just how good DTG is. "This is the most exciting middle-distance prospect I have had in the stables since I returned to Australia. To me he looks a ready-made Spring Champion Stakes horse."

Bonny off and running
